#Westport CT--#Bridgeport CT--On 12/04/2013, Eleanor Cobb of Bridgeport, CT was arrested after officers were dispatched to a report of a child left unattended in a motor vehicle. A four year old child was located in the vehicle while Cobb was shopping in a nearby store. Cobb admitted she had been drinking and had a “crack pipe” in the vehicle. Officers learned that she had also shoplifted from Walgreen’s. Cobb was charged with 53-21 Risk of Injury to a Minor, 53a-125b Larceny 6th, and 21a-267(a) Possession of Drug paraphernalia. Cobb was released after posting $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court at 0930 hours on 12/13/2013.
High School students can submit applications for consideration BRIDGEPORT, CT (December 10, 2013) — Mayor Bill Finch today announced that he is accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Mayor’s Youth Council. The new initiative provides youth a chance to learn about and participate in local government while serving in an advisory capacity to the Mayor on youth issues. The Youth Council will be comprised of 10 high school students from across Bridgeport Public Schools and Vocational programs. #Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 9, 2013) -- Cecalie Cooper just wanted to help during the holiday season. “I wanted to make a difference in a child’s life this holiday season,” said Cooper, 25, a recent college graduate and daughter of Councilwoman Eneida Martinez-Walker. “It’s easy to caught up in the holidays and forget that there are children in our community who might not get presents. “I wanted to try to do something about it.” Cooper partnered with the Bridgeport Police Department in the effort. 11:51pm--#Bridgeport CT--Police are on scene investigating an open door in the back of John Winthrop School at 85 Eckart Street. Police were alerted by the alarm company.
10:38pm--#Bridgeport CT--A pedestrian was hit in the crosswalks outside Tony's Huntington Inn at 437 Huntington Turnpike. Injuries do no appear to be life threatening and the driver stopped and remained on scene.
