A Bridgeport woman has been arrested by the Bridgeport Police for a swatting incident that led to a rapid response by the department's Emergency Service Unit.  Dorothy Smith, 34 years-old, turned herself in on Thursday morning on a felony warrant. She was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the First Degree. Smith called 911 in the early morning hours on June 27th, 2024, pretending to be another female. She then falsely reported that her and her family  were being held hostage at gunpoint in a house on Highland Ave. by her boyfriend. Shelton News: Police Investigate Serious Motorcycle Accident on Walnut Tree Road

On July 19, 2024, at approximately 10:09 AM, the Shelton Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a motorcycle and motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Walnut Tree Road and Thompson Street in Shelton. Upon arrival, Shelton Police and EMS found a 21-year-old male and a 22-year-old female in the roadway with serious injuries. The Shelton Police Accident Reconstruction team was dispatched to investigate the incident. Initial findings indicated that the male operator of the motorcycle, with his female passenger, was traveling south on Walnut Tree Hill Road.
