Fire on Madison Terrace Bridgeport

At approximately 2pm firefighters responded to structure fire at 8 Madison Terrace.  Being a terrace and not a street present some challenges getting trucks close to the structure and not being able to have access with a ladder truck.  Firefighters made quick entry getting fire lines into the vacant building and quickly knocked down the fire.  There were no injuries combating the blaze.

Woman Put Baby & Stroller In Back Of Pick-up Truck

DAYTONA BEACH, FL --A baby sitter is in trouble after police say she put a baby in the back of a pick-up truck. Several drivers called 911 after seeing the stroller in the bed of the truck. The babysitter, Keyona Davis, explained to the court she's been baby-sitting without incident since she was a teen, didn't realize police would consider this, endangering a child. "It's not like they give you a hand book or anything on how, what's neglect and what's not neglect, " Davis said. Stratfield Car Crash

A two car accident around 11pm completed the trifecta of car crashes that kept police busy Friday night. This one occured at Stratfield and Fairfield Woods Road intersection. The Honda Pilot flipped three times according to witnesses and that driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. The driver and passengers of the other car refused medical treatment. Man in custody after Stratford standoff

Written by John Kovach Stratford Star A special response team took a man into custody after a nearly 3-hour standoff on Roosevelt Avenue Thursday afternoon. Police were called to a domestic disturbance at 362 Roosevelt Ave. at 2 p.m. Stratford Police Capt. John Popik said a woman told officers that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, and made reference to him having a rifle, and having acted strangely of late. Neighbors also told police they believed the man had a rifle. Additional officers were called to the scene and moved neighbors away from the hours. Drowning at Lake Mohegan

Shortly after 10am Wednesday morning 39 year old Frank Mazzabufi began wading into the water off a wooded path when he went under. Lifeguards based at the lake's beach dove in and started swimming out toward the man on their surf boards but he disappeared before they could get to him. Dive teams located him just after 12pm. Frank Mazzabufi is a resident of Shelton.
