Salvation Army Helps 800 Families
Extra police were called in to assist in traffic at the old bus station in Bridgeport Monday afternoon. Over 800 families were helped as the Salvation Army distributed food and supplies to the needy with the help of the Feed the Children, Holiday Inn of Bridgeport, McDonald's and Cirtin Cooperman. Eunice Champlin of the Salvation Army told us that unemployment is certainly a factor in the great need in the Bridgeport, Norwalk and New Haven area. "This is a little bit a bonus for them" she told us.
