On April 5, 2013 at 0930 hrs Westport Police Detectives arrested an individual who had obtained over $30,000.00 in home furnishings and artwork by fraudulently writing checks for the items on her checking account which did not have the funds available. All of the victim businesses were located in Westport and ranged from large chain stores to smaller boutiques. At the time of the arrest the suspect was appearing at court for proceedings on other similar but unrelated charges.
