Bridgeport News: Officer Involved Shooting

On October 5, 2024, Bridgeport Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Terry Place following reports of an emotionally disturbed person. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect who brandished a knife, leading to an officer-involved shooting. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Huntley Jackson of Bridgeport, CT, was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. He is under arrest for Criminal Attempt - Murder, Assault in the 1st Degree, Assault on a Public Safety Officer, Threatening in the 2nd Degree, Interfering/Resisting Arrest, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, with a bond set at $1 million. Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport has announced that the Department of Public Facilities will begin milling and road paving throughout the City beginning Monday, October 7, 2024. Milling and paving will begin in the 139th District and will continue throughout various neighborhoods, finishing in the 136th District. Norwalk Police Snuff Out Illegal Cannabis Sales at Local Shop

Norwalk Police executed a search warrant at AAA Smoke & Convenience Store, 168 Main Street, on October 2, 2024, as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal cannabis sales. The store was found selling cannabis without a proper license, including 5.39 lbs of marijuana, hundreds of THC gummies, and other products exceeding legal THC limits. Officers seized $18,331 in cash under asset forfeiture statutes. Samir Dahman, 24, was arrested and charged with selling over 1 kg of cannabis, illegal sales, and drug paraphernalia use. He is being held on a $100,000 bond, with a court date set for October 17, 2024.

Stolen Car Pursuit Ends in Crash, Two Arrested

A vehicle pursuit and arrest followed a stolen car incident this morning. At around 9:30 AM, a Wilton Police vehicle was struck by a stolen grey Mazda occupied by two men, which fled toward the Merritt Parkway. The Mazda had been stolen at gunpoint in Bridgeport on September 26. Fairfield Police spotted the Mazda shortly after, and a pursuit ensued when the driver accelerated. The vehicle exited at Exit 51, where officers tried to deploy tire deflation devices, but the driver re-entered the Merritt Parkway, driving in the wrong direction.
