Waterbury Man Arrested in Connection to Ansonia Shots Fired Incident

On November 12, 2024, Edward Rumley, age 32, of Waterbury was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for his involvement in the August 31, 2024 shots fired investigation in Ansonia. Rumley was charged with Criminal Attempt at Assault First Degree, Reckless Endangerment First Degree, Unlawful Discharge, Criminal Possession of Firearm, and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Rumley was held on a $250,000.00 bond, he was arraigned in court on November 13, 2024 and turned over to the custody of the Department of Corrections. Rumley’s next court appearance is November 21, 2024. Ansonia News: Police Investigating Shooting of Ansonia Woman Transported to Hospital

On November 1, 2024 at about 7:50 P.M., the Derby Police Department requested assistance for a shooting investigation where the victim was at Griffin Hospital. During the course of the investigation it was determined the victim was shot in Ansonia then transported by private car to the hospital.The victim, a 27 year-old female Ansonia resident, was transferred to another hospital for further treatment where she is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, this appears to be an isolated incident and detectives are currently pursuing leads in the case. On October 26, 2024 at about 2:30 A.M. the Ansonia Police Department responded to 130 Father Salemi Drive, the Saint Sebastian Club, for a report of a shooting. Officers first on scene found a 27-year-old male Ansonia resident that had been shot multiple times in the torso. The male was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. During the investigation a second male gunshot victim was found, he was shot once in the buttocks. This male, a 26-year-old Ansonia resident, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. Ansonia Man Arrested Following Investigation into 2023 Overdose Death

On October 9. 2024, the Ansonia Police Department arrested Michael Dupre, age 50, of Ansonia after an overdose death investigation. During the investigation by Detective Jon Troesser, he was able to link Dupre to the sale of narcotics to the 24 year old female victim who overdosed in October of 2023. Michael Dupre was charged with Misrepresentation of a Controlled Substance and Sale of Narcotics. He is being held on a $150,000 bond and was presented today, 10/10/2024, at Derby Superior Court for arraignment.
