2:10pm--#Bridgeport CT--A report of a chimney fire in Spongebob's neighborhood at 131 Plankton Street. Firefighters are on the way. UPDATE--Fire contained to the chimney, Spongebob and Patrick were unavailable for comment.

Hey! Fairfield has no reason not to give police a contract now!
A Stamford Superior Court judge entered a $2.88 million judgment today in favor of the Town of Fairfield against an investment firm that had placed the Town’s retirement funds with Bernard Madoff. Fairfield Police have been without a contract for over two years. Maybe the RTM can pass their contract this week. Fairfield has a track record of being anti-union dragging its feet on the firefighters and even the nurses contract. Oh yea, this is an editorial.
Shots fired- Bridgeport teen arrested
Police investigating a report of shots fired Thursday arrested a 19-year-old with a loaded gun. At about 3 p.m. Thursday, Officers Anthony Caiazzo and Alfred Cesar were on patrol in the area of Bassick High School when they heard four or five gunshots. They heard from a witness that after the loud bangs a man in a black hooded sweatshirt ran down Colorado Street. They also learned from a Bassick security guard that the shots happened in the area of Wentfield Park. As they checked the area, they observed a Pontiac Grand Prix occupied by three males with a fourth standing at the driver’s window. When the fourth man saw police, he walked off briskly. Suicide Attempt Outside The ER
9:39pm--Police intervened when a woman who was in a car parked outside the Emergency Room at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was with her mother and she refused to get out of the car and attempted to take her life, method unknown. Police were able to talk her out of taking her life and got her out of the car an to help.
Face Slashed
9:29pm--#Bridgeport CT--Man was had his faced slashed while on Norman Street. Police are investigating, not a lot of info on this. He was taken to the hospital by EMS.
Tonight’s Car Fire
9:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--Tonight's car fire was in the parking lot behind the Shehan Center at 1494 Main St. Firefighters quickly extinguished it and police are investigating.
