Cats eat plants, and lilies are highly poisonous to cats, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (ASPCA). They can kill a cat in a matter of hours. Even eating a very small part of the plant can cause severe kidney failure and death.
Cops threatened to send in a dog to drive out two felons holed up in a house in Westville. The only problem: they didn’t actually have a dog on the scene. Instead, one officer went in the backyard and started barking. He turned out to be just as good as the real thing. Reports now say a woman was slashed in the arm and is their way to St. Vincent's Hospital. UPDATE--Reports now say she cut herself on a window.
3:02am--#Bridgeport CT--Tonight's car fire is at Winton Street and River Street. Reports are a pickup fully involved in flames. Additional calls say they hear explosions which is usually the tires exploding.
11:15pm--#New Haven CT--A man was shot in the stomach at 39 Thompson Street and is in traumatic arrest. According to Wikipedia - Traumatic cardiac arrest is a condition in which the heart has ceased to beat due to blunt or penetrating trauma. There have not been any further updates.
12:12am--#Fairfield CT--Police on scene of a car accident on Springer Road (off Samp Mortar). The car snapped a utility pole and there are primaries in the street, no entrapment or danger, all occupants out safely with minor injuries.
11:42pm--#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Police were called to 689 Kings Hwy East outside the Sky Hookah Lounge where a large fight broke out. This was the first weekend Fairfield Police did not monitor outside the establishment in weeks to babysit. Fairfield Police have had numerous headaches monitoring the after hours club. A bill has been introduced by Rep. Brenda Kupchick, R-Fairfield, giving municipal police the ability to regulate the hours of hookah lounges, which are establishments where people can gather to smoke tobacco through a hookah, a type of waterpipe. Reports said one group of kids were told to leave and refused, then started fighting with other parties in the facility. Police on scene saying large crowd of a couple hundred juveniles, no fighting upon their arrival. Police working to disperse the crowd.
