Crash Shuts Down Route 8

State Police Update: On Wednesday night in Trumbull, a Norwalk man named Daniel Demichael, 34, lost his life in a collision between his Jeep and a merging Toyota Supra on Route 8, as reported by state police. A child in the back seat of the Jeep suffered minor injuries in the incident. The crash happened around 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Route 8 near Exit 8. According to the investigation, Demichael was driving his 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in the right lane of Route 8. At the same time, a driver from Bridgeport in a 2021 Toyota Supra was merging onto Route 8 from the southbound side of the Merritt Parkway's Exit 52 entrance ramp. The…

Trumbull Police are now on the scene of a two-car motor vehicle crash on White Plains Road (Route 127) in Trumbull. The crash involves serious injuries and the roadway in this area will be closed for several hours. White Plains Road will be closed between Reservoir Avenue and Brock Street until further notice. The Trumbull Police received several 911 calls, on Sunday, October 10, at approximately 3:30 PM, reporting a two-car motor vehicle accident on White Plains Road (Route 127) near the entrance ramp to Route 25 Southbound. On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Trumbull Police apprehended three juveniles who had fled from law enforcement after breaking into a car and attempting to steal it at the Trumbull Mall. They had managed to escape with items taken from the vehicle. The arrested individuals included two thirteen-year-olds and one twelve-year-old male, all residents of Bridgeport. These individuals faced charges related to the incident. Around 6:30 p.m., the Trumbull Police received a report about four individuals wearing black hoodies and masks who had just stolen a purse and Air Jordan shoes from a Hyundai Elantra. Trumbull Police apprehended two (2) men and one juvenile male after they broke into vehicles, shoplifted, and attempted to flee police from a stolen car they were entering at the Trumbull Mall, on Thursday, July 27th. Edgardo Mercado, age 21, John Adorno, age 19, and a sixteen (16) year old male, all from Meriden, were arrested and charged for their involvement in these crimes. At approximately 12:30 PM, Trumbull officers were notified that a stolen white 2014 Kia Sorento was on mall property. #Trumbull police arrested the primary suspect involved in the shooting incident that took place at the Trumbull mall on May, 29, 2023. This sixteen (16) year old male resident of Bridgeport turned himself in to Trumbull Police Headquarters on Wednesday, July 6 for the outstanding warrant of his arrest. He was criminally processed and charged with Reckless Endangerment First Degree, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Threatening First Degree, and Breach of Peace. He was then turned over to the custody of the Juvenile Residential Center Superintendent at Bridgeport to be held, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Juvenile Court on July 12, 2023.
