#Trumbull CT-- #Bridgeport CT-- Shortly after 7pm Trumbull Police were notified of a robbery and gunshot at the Zales Store in the Westfield Mall on Main Street. A lone male entered the store brandishing a handgun which he used to shatter glass display case. While doing this, the gun apparently discharged one bullet. The man grabbed several gold chains and fled on foot. No one was injured in the incident. Officers spotted the fleeing car at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Anton Street in Bridgeport where he crashed. The driver was believed to still have the firearm used in the robbery with him. #Trumbull CT--On Sunday, October 4, 2020 at about 2:30 am, Trumbull Police arrested a man in thearea of Arrowhead Rd., after he was observed attempting to steal from a vehicle parkedin a driveway. Jason Batts, age 47, of Maple St., Bridgeport, was taken into custodyafter an officer chased him on foot and apprehended him in the rear of a nearbyresidence. The Trumbull Police received a report of an unknown person tampering with motorvehicles and hiding behind cars. While enroute, Trumbull Police Dispatch was on thephone with the complainant who had been actively observing the suspect, and updatingresponding officers of the suspect’s location. #Trumbull CT--Early Thursday morning, September 17, Trumbull Police apprehended a juvenile near Church Hill Rd. after a resident reported him knocking on their door around 3:00 am, and asking to use their cellphone so he can get a ride home. Officers arrested the fifteen (15) year old West Haven teen, after another citizen notified an officer that a teen was walking around like he "partied too much" and was asking to use his cell phone. The man pointed to where the teen should be before officers apprehended him. #Fairfield CT--A citizen who saw the picture on the town alert located the missing man at John Winthrop Elementary School, 85 Eckart St, Bridgeport. He called the authorities and stayed with the man until first responders arrived. Fairfield Police Deputy Chief Smith told me the missing man was dehydrated but otherwise in good shape. The chief wanted to thank all the surrounding towns who assisted in the search. A bloodhound as well as Eagle One helicopter to search the Lake Mohegan area. Trumbull Police and Firefighters search the area of the Trumbull Mall where he was seen around noon time. The Trumbull Police Department and Sunny Daes joined together to present a 'Cops & Cones' event on Saturday, August 15 in Trumbull Shopping Center. During this time, members of the Trumbull community were able to meet with their officers to ask questions, chat, and get to know one another all while enjoying sweet treats. Interactions such as these continue to unite and bring the Trumbull community and police closer together. The Trumbull Police Department is grateful to have participated in this wonderful event, and would like to thank all of those who participated. #Trumbull CT-- Six (6) cars were stolen from Trumbull driveways in the first two (2) weeks of August, and thefts occurred at more than a dozen locations, where numerous vehicles were entered overnight by thieves once again. None of the victimized cars were locked, and those that were stolen all had the keys provided by the owners who left the keys inside of their vehicles when they were parked. Trumbull Police continue to receive reports of car thefts, and thefts of personal property from cars that are left unlocked, all during the overnight hours throughout the town’s residential areas. Officers repeat the same warnings as they have in recent months and years: lock your cars and take your keys.…
