Stratford Police Arrest Bridgeport Man After Narcotics Pursuit on I-95

https://youtu.be/cqA4uHKhjLs On October 7, 2024, the Stratford Police Department’s Narcotic, Vice, and Intelligence Unit attempted to stop a motor vehicle after observing a possible narcotics transaction in the area of Stratford Avenue. The operator refused to stop and instead engaged the detectives in a pursuit. During the chase, the operator was seen tossing a black plastic bag from the vehicle while entering the southbound ramp to I-95 at exit 31. After a short distance on I-95, the operator eventually pulled over and stopped the vehicle. Detectives identified the driver as Andre McBride of Bridgeport. With the assistance of K9 Vader, the black plastic bag discarded by McBride was recovered nearby and found to contain narcotics and marijuana materials. McBride was…

Special Programming Announced The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford will reopen on Sundays beginning October 6, 2024.  Hours on Sunday will be from 1-5 pm and will continue until May 18, 2025. On opening day (October 6) the Library will return with its popular “Sunday Afternoon Talks” series featuring returning guest speaker/author Hamis Lutris.  The author will discuss his new novel, Earth Ascendant: Awakening.This is the first of four volumes of a fast-paced, character-driven fantasy/science-fiction series. Troopers Arrest Two for Participating in Street Takeover on I-95 in Stratford

On September 21, 2024, at approximately 11:10 AM, Connecticut State Police began receiving 911 calls about the erratic group on I-95 Southbound near New Haven. DOT traffic cameras tracked over 100 motorcycles blocking lanes from New Haven through Stratford, led by a white GMC Denali with an unsecured passenger filming the event from the truck bed. When a Trooper attempted to stop the truck near exit 33, the motorcyclists surrounded the cruiser, preventing the stop. Stratford News: Gun Found At School UPDATE

A firearm was discovered on the grounds of Nichols Elementary School during the evening of September 18, 2024. It was found covered in dirt and debris, both inside and out, and had rusted significantly from prolonged exposure to the elements. The firearm matches the description of one reported missing after an incident that occurred nearby in 2017. The Detective Bureau is currently investigating whether there is a connection between this firearm and the 2017 incident. Authorities have confirmed that the firearm posed no immediate threat to the public, as it appears to be inoperable due to its current condition.
