Norwalk News: Arrest Made in Marina Burglary

On May 17, 2024, two males unlawfully accessed Cove Marina by climbing over the fence, subsequently breaking into two docked boats and stealing tools and alcohol.  Following the incident, officers collected video footage and gathered information, leading them to connect the crime with a similar one reported at a Fairfield Police marina, with Christopher McClain identified as a suspect.  Through surveillance efforts, Norwalk Officers positively identified McClain and his associated vehicle, resulting in the issuance of an arrest warrant.  On June 11th, McClain was apprehended without resistance at his residence. Christopher McClain, aged 19, faces charges including Burglary in the Third Degree, Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree, and Larceny in the Fifth Degree, with a court-set bond of $25,000.

Norwalk News: Arrests Made in Vape Shop Raids for Illegal Sales and Possession

On June 7, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM, members of the Special Services Division executed search and seizure warrants at two Smoke Shops on Washington Street in Norwalk, CT, following numerous complaints about vape and tobacco sales to minors and illegal marijuana sales. At Sono One Stop, located at 83 Washington Street, Evary L. Zorrilla Jr. was charged with the illegal sale or manufacture of cannabis, possession of cannabis, and two outstanding warrants for illegal tobacco sales to minors. Contraband seized included various THC products, marijuana pre-rolls, edibles, and a small amount of cash. Norwalk News: Narcotics Arrest

On June 4, 2024, members of the Norwalk Police Special Services Division, in collaboration with the Stamford Police Narcotics/Organized Crime Unit, arrested Hunter Wells after an extensive eight-month investigation. Investigators executed search and seizure warrants on Wells, his vehicle, and his person. Throughout the investigation, Wells sold Percocet pills containing fentanyl, ecstasy, and marijuana to undercover officers on numerous occasions. The investigation remains ongoing. Hunter Wells, aged 31, of Norwalk, CT, faces charges for two counts of the sale of a narcotic substance and three counts of the sale of cannabis. His bond is set at $140,000.

Norwalk News: Sexual Assault of a Minor – Arrest Made

In February of 2024, the Norwalk Police Department received a complaint of a sexual assault of a minor.The investigation was assumed by the Special Victims Unit. During the investigation detectives identified Marc Lugo as the suspect in the assault and secured an arrest warrant for his arrest through Stamford Superior Court.On May 31, 2024 Special Victims Unit Detectives located Lugo in Norwalk and placed him under arrest.

Norwalk News: Special Services Division Narcotics Arrest

On May 28, 2024, members of the Special Services Division, assisted by the Patrol Division, executed search warrants on Keith Johnson and his residence at The Waypointe Apartment complex. After a lengthy investigation into Johnson for illegal narcotics trafficking, search warrants were obtained through Stamford Superior Court. Surveillance was conducted outside the apartment complex, and when Johnson was observed walking in the area, he was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was immediately executed at Johnson’s apartment, resulting in the seizure of a large amount of narcotics. Norwalk News: Arrest made for Elder Abuse

In November 2023, the Special Victims Unit received a complaint regarding an incident of elderly abuse at Fairfield Family Care Center in Norwalk. Detectives discovered that an elderly male had been left unattended and injured after falling out of his bed during the overnight hours. Through evidence collection and witness interviews, detectives determined that Lydia Lungile, the aide responsible for the individual’s care, had ignored the victim. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Lungile. Norwalk News: Carjacking Suspect Arrested Following Multi-Agency Investigation

On March 28, 2024, at 5:05 AM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a call about an attempted carjacking at gunpoint in the area of Westport Avenue. As patrol officers were responding, another call came in reporting a second carjacking at gunpoint in the same area. Upon arrival, patrol officers discovered that a BMW X3 had been stolen during the incident. About 20 minutes later, Stamford Police received calls about two carjackings in their city. Norwalk patrol officers found the stolen BMW later that morning, damaged and abandoned by the suspects. The Detective Bureau took over the investigation and determined that the stolen BMW had been used in the attempted carjacking in Norwalk. On May 13, 2024, at 8:41 PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a report of shots fired at the 200 block of Ely Avenue. Upon arrival, Patrol Division Officers swiftly relayed the suspect and vehicle descriptions to their colleagues and located the vehicle nearby, where they also recovered a firearm. The investigation was then taken over by the Detective Bureau, revealing that the incident was isolated and domestic in nature, with no injuries reported.
