#Bridgeport CT--A mail carrier called police on the Logan Street/Hollister Ave area that a man was following her and going to porches and mailboxes where she just delivered to.  Police investigated but I did not hear what the outcome was.  Please be aware of this if you are expecting a credit card, tax refund or other important mail today.

Making Bridgeport Schools Safer

Since the beginning of the school year, the Police Department worked with the Board of Education to complete a comprehensive review of security at every school in the city, both public and private. “It was a huge undertaking, but this effort has made our schools among the most secure in the state,” said Mayor Bill Finch. “I can’t say enough about the collaboration and effort that went into pulling all these pieces together. The tragedy in Newtown reinforced for us that we were doing was essential. Street repaving in Bridgeport

City’s Downtown Road Improvement Project, which began on April 15, continues this week with the milling of Lafayette Boulevard, John Street and North Frontage Road. Milling on Lafayette Boulevard from North Frontage Road to John Street is currently underway and is expected to last through Tuesday, April 23. Paving of Lafayette Boulevard is expected to begin on Thursday, April 25. Milling of John Street from West Avenue to Water Street is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 25. Paving of John Street is scheduled to begin early next week. Drivers should expect minor delays during this road improvement project.
