Man Slashes Acquaintance over Debt

(Bridgeport, CT – June 24, 2013) – A city man was charged with first-degree assault Sunday after he allegedly slashed an acquaintance in the face over a debt. Officer Dave Rivera and John Carrano responded to the intersection of Noble Avenue and Ogden Street at 6:44 p.m. and found the victim, Jorge Gomez, 39, with a laceration to his left eye.  The victim stated that an acquaintance, Roberto Gonzalez, 29, of Bridgeport, confronted him over a dice game and during the ensuing argument slashed him with a blade. 11:11am--#Bridgeport CT--A report of three kids playing unattended in the swamp area of Gilman Street at St. Mary's by the Sea.  No ages indicated but I use to play at a pond unattended when I was young as 8.  My age group brags we played outside until the street lights came on.  Do you think people over react today?

Illegal swimming in the cascades

1:22pm--#Fairfield CT--Despite no swimming signs posted police were called to the cascade area of Lake Mohegan in Fairfield this afternoon for three people swimming in the area.  Two people, two years in a row have drowned in the lake.  Last year was ten year old Catherine Perez Trujillo from Bridgeport and in 2011 it was 32 year old Frank Mazzabufi, of Shelton.  There is no swimming in this area due to dangerous currents and drop offs in the area. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJu-ogyd9OE&feature=player_embedded
