Man Arrested on Domestic Assault Warrant

#Bridgeport, CT – Jan. 31, 2014  – A city man was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with a felony domestic violence warrant. Officer Christopher Martin responded to a Holly Street address on Wednesday on a report that a man, Sammy Hill, 39, was attempting to assault a relative. On scene, police determined that Hill also had a felony domestic violence warrant. Hill had fled the scene and police checked several locations but could not locate him. Police were called back Thursday on information that he had returned. Martin, Officer Paul Nikola and Lts. John Cummings and Kevin Gilleran, among others, responded. College professor goes missing

#Bridgeport CT--Housatonic Community College's Nutrition Professor Jarvis Smith was reported missing to Bridgeport Police last night by his brother.  He has been missing since December 26, 2013.  Housatonic College confirmed today that he has not shown up for class when the new semester began this week, the school is very concerned.

Discount Card is free to residents of Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM)-member towns and cities   (BRIDGEPORT, CT – January 29, 2014) – Mayor Bill Finch announced today that the City of Bridgeport, through its association with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), the statewide association of towns and cities, is now providing a new prescription discount card that will provide uninsured and underinsured residents steep savings on prescription medicines. Bridgeport is a member of CCM and this new program is only available to CCM member-communities. Man Charged With Stealing $25,000 From Former Employer

#Bridgeport, CT – Jan. 29, 2014 – An Ansonia man faces larceny-related charges in connection with the theft of more than $25,000 from his former employer. Detective Frank Podpolucha secured a warrant charging Joel Tenpenny, 41, with first-degree larceny and first-degree computer crimes. Tenpenny worked for The Black Horse Automotive Services Inc., on Union Avenue,  as the controller, where he was hired to ensure that the company’s financial activities were properly recorded, controlled and reported to the owners and complied with state and federal tax regulations. The investigation determined that Tenpenny defrauded the company in a number of ways.
