Fairfield News: Sprinklers Prevent High Density Catastrophe

2:55pm--#Fairfield CT-- Sprinkler systems prevented a major fire in the high density apartments at 130 Fairchild Avenue on the second floor.    The dead end street is clogged with emergency vehicles as the opponents of the high density apartment have claimed would happen in an emergency.  Firefighters find a heavy smoke condition on the second floor and are now reading high carbon monoxide levels throughout the building. Firefighters are in the process of ventilating and because of the carbon monoxide levels each apartment must be metered by the firefighters.  Two people are being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

Fairfield News: Suds In Water At Gould Manor Park

3:50pm--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters are on scene at Gould Manor Park for a sudsy substance that has killed off some fish and eels.  Firefighters are trying to determine what the substance is but with water soluble materials is is difficult because the equipment will read mostly water.  They suspect it is caused by someone washing their car in the neighborhood not knowing the water from the catch basin empties into the pond.  The continue investigating. Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has been notified of the incident.

Fairfield News: Water Rescue

1:55pm--#Fairfield CT--Police and Firefighters were called to Jennings Beach for a reported call for help in the water by a witness in the beach parking lot. A short time later police received a call from a witness at St. Mary's By The Sea stating they heard a call for help and saw a flare in the water. Fairfield fire and police launched their boats and went to the boat that was pointed out to them by witnesses. After a short period of time the boat returned to the marina under its own power. Police continue interviewing the boater when I filed this report.

Fairfield News: 2 Out Of 3 Ain’t Bad…..

UPDATE: Old Navy changed their mind and will not press charges according to radio reports. 3:22pm--#Fairfield CT-- Two out of three shoplifters in a black 2015 Mercedes C300  from Old Navy apprehended by Fairfield Police in front of TJ Max.  Old Navy does not want to press charges according to radio reports, probably because it was a citizen that caught them and gave police info on what to look for.  The suspects had the merchandise in their possession according to radio reports.   Click LIKE to see more of these stories and visit our sponsors to help us keep producing these stories.

Southwest Community Health Center Serves Our Community

The Southwest Community Heath Center on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport conducted a health care fair today after being rained out yesterday.
