Fairfield News: Police Thanks By Students and Parents

#Fairfield News:  Police this morning were greeted Monday morning  to notes and homemade goodies from parents and students.  Lieutenant James Perez said it is always nice to be thanked for a job well done.  Officer Lance Newkirchen said "our police training division is now incorporating school safety scenarios in everything that we are doing now as opposed to some of the more traditional scenarios from years ago  that did not involve the schools" and "we have an extremely progressive Police Department where we don't want to come in second in any category we want to be first and when it comes to school safety that's what we are aiming for and that's why we spend so much time thinking about…

Southport News: Pedestrian Killed by Train

Metro North Railroad is reporting: The New Haven Line continued scattered residual delays of up to 30 mins due to earlier police activity near. Southport. UPDATE: Fairfield Police told me that it was a woman who attempted to jump in front of a southbound train but the train was able to stop in time.  She then was struck by a northbound Amtrak train headed to Boston.   Metro North has taken over the investigation. 1:57pm--#Metronorth--#Southport CT--A pedestrian has been struck and killed while on the tracks at the Southport Train Station.  Currently on track one is operational.
