Fairfield News: 3rd Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament

Fairfield Police Benevolent Association (FPBA) and the Fairfield Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation (FFFCF) are holding the 3rd Annual Wiffle Ball Tournament on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10 am at Roger Ludlowe Middle School, 689 Unquowa Road. The rain date is Sunday, August 21, same time and location. Anyone age 11 and up can participate in the tournament by clicking onwww.fairfieldwiffle.com. All proceeds will be donated to the FPBA and FFFCF. This community-wide event will start at 10 am with each game lasting about one hour. Teams are made up of three to six players. Fairfield News: Police Nab Lottery Thieves

5:17pm--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Police were on Black Rock Turnpike when two men entered the Shell Station at 2424 Black Rock Turnpike allegedly stealing lotto tickets from the business  and gave chase.  They caught up with them on the Merritt Parkway and took two in custody.  Police checking with Darien Police to see if it is connected with the lottery tickets stolen from the Exxon Gas Station on the Boston Post Road.  There have been additional robberies in Trumbull, Ridgefield and Norwalk.   5:17pm--#Fairfield Connecticut - Policía estaba en Black Rock Turnpike cuando dos hombres entradon a la estacíon Shell en 2424 Black Rock Turnpike a robar boletos de loteria. Connecticut Post reporter Daniel Trepfer reports Sabrina DaSilva was shot nine times on July 3rd. The suspect, Walter DaSilva, 45, a Brazilian citizen is being held on $500,000 bond pending and extrication hearing. The Post reports that “he was also held on a warrant charging him with violating his probation on a 2002 conviction in Massachusetts for aggrevated assault with a weapon and attempted murder”. Fairfield Selects Out of State Company To Produce Fairfield Videos

First Selectman Michael C. Tetreau announced today that the Town of Fairfield is renewing its partnership with a New York-based company to produce a series of community videos to be hosted on the Town’s official website (www.fairfieldct.org). Through this initiative, CGI Communications will develop up to ten promotional videos that will highlight the many elements that make Fairfield such an attractive community to live, work and play. Fairfield had previously worked with CGI on a similar project in 2010. The latest program will feature chapters on economic development, real estate, recreation & leisure, education, shopping & dining, arts & culture, history & attractions and senior living.
