(Bridgeport, CT – March 4, 2014) -- A city man was arrested this morning in New York in connection with a July 24 homicide in the Mill Hill section of Bridgeport. The U.S. Marshals apprehended Jose Manuel Torres, 36, on a warrant charging him with the July 24, 2013, fatal shooting of Pablo Aquino, which occurred at Clermont Avenue and Pixlee Place. Aquino, 27, was shot in the 200 block of Pixlee Place and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital in a private car. He was pronounced dead there. Detectives secured a warrant for Torres. The killing is believed to stem from a neighbor dispute. After the extradition process, Torres will be returned to Bridgeport to face charges in the fatal…

Man Arrested for Threatening Bus Driver (Bridgeport, CT – Feb. 26, 2014) – A Bridgeport man faces threatening charges after an encounter on a Greater Bridgeport Transit bus with a driver Tuesday. Officer Kenneth Ruge was dispatched to the intersection of Washington Avenue and James Street on a report of a passenger threatening to kill a bus driver. The driver, a 54-year-old man, stated that the suspect, Christian Clark, 25, entered the bus and accused the driver of disrespecting Clark’s wife earlier. Clark then threatened to kill the driver and all other GBT drivers. Clark was arrested for threatening and given a misdemeanor summons. Officer Daniel Orlich responded to the Greene Homes apartment complex on a report of a robbery but could find neither the victim nor the suspects. (Bridgeport, CT – Feb. 25, 2014) – Police arrested a city man and seized two weapons, heroin and potentially deadly synthetic narcotic last week after the police narcotics team developed information about a heroin dealer. Officer Miguel Perez and Sgt. John Evans learned that the resident of 60 Lee Ave. was dealing heroin in bags stamped with the word “Flow.” Narcotics investigators last week set up surveillance at 60 Lee Ave., where the suspect lives. They located the suspect, David Fernandez, 37, outside and seized 3 bundles of heroin packaged for street sale. He was placed under arrest.
