Two Men Arrested in Armed Street Robbery

(Bridgeport, CT – July 1, 2014) – Two city men face charged in connection with an armed street robbery that occurred Thursday. According to Detective Art Calvao, the robbery happened near the intersection of Reservoir and Woodrow avenues. The victim had been assaulted, threatened with a firearm and robbed of his cell phone and cash. Through this investigation by detectives, two suspects were identified and detectives set up surveillance at their residence on 218 Douglas St. Monday. One of the suspects, Robert Stovall, 25, came out of this location and entered a vehicle that pulled up in front of the house. The car then drove off. With the assistance of Sgt. City Man Faces Narcotics Charges

(Bridgeport, CT – June 30, 2014) – An anonymous tip led police to arrest a city man on narcotics charges. Officer Sarah Nestlen and Matthew Goncalves responded to the 600 block of Fairfield Avenue Saturday on the report of drug activity. Police received information that the dealers hid the drugs in a small box connected with a magnet to the undercarriage of a car. Police detained two people. The owner, Darryl Woolford, 51, of William Street, granted permission for police to search the car and officers located the box where the tipster stated. Felon Arrested on Gun Charges

A city man faces gun charges after a motor vehicle stop Thursday evening. Just after 7 p.m., Officer Paul Scillia attempted to pull over a vehicle on Fairfield Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. Before the motorist stopped, Scillia observed him making furtive movements in his car. Scillia and Officers Adam Roscoe and Ivan Delgado spoke with the occupants and they stepped out of the vehicle. Police recovered a stolen handgun from the vehicle that the driver, Stephen Goins, 33, of Bridgeport, stated belonged to him. The passenger, his mother, was not charged. Around 12:45 Monday morning State Police started following a Green Jeep headed northbound on I-95 near exit 17. They did not engage in pursuit until clearing traffic in Fairfield.
