UPDATED: 4:40am--#Bridgeport CT-- A pedestrian was hit at Park Avenue and Vine Street. A white Accura fled the scene. Police are asking the EMTs to "step it up". UPDATE from Police Spokesman: A 22-year-old man was in critical condition after a hit-and- run accident early this morning.The crash was reported at about 4:39 a.m. at the intersection of Park Avenue and Vine Street.The victim, a pedestrian, suffered what were described as potentially life-threatening injuries.The department's serious accident investigation team responded.Investigators learned that the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. Based on witness accounts, the vehicle accelerated through the intersection as the traffic signal changed and struck the victim. The driver applied the brakes after the impact.…

Bridgeport News: Fatal Motorcycle Crash Closes Route 8/25 Northbound

10:48pm--#cttraffic--#Bridgeport CT--A motorcyclist has lost his life in a crash on Route 8/25 northbound. The accident investigation team will have the highway shutdown for an extended period of time. There is no information on who the victim . The victims body and motorcycle were at least one hundred feet from one another. A woman closer to the motorcycle could be seen crying hysterically. Local streets in Bridgeport near the scene are really jammed with traffic especially on Golden Hill and Washington Avenue area. I stopped by and visited Dave Peterson of Rampage Skate Shop at 1625 Railroad Avenue, the place across the street from McDonald's on Fairfield Avenue. I stopped inside the store and was totally impressed on what they had to offer. The fire does not appear to involve either school bus but a single car that is on fire. No es un accidente con la Ruta fuego del coche 25.08 en dirección sur. The boy was pretty scratched up according to radio reports and he is going to Bridgeport Hospital.
