Officer Mark Martocchio attempted to pull over a vehicle on North Avenue but the driver sped off. He lost sight of the car but witnesses, as the officer passed, indicated that the motorist had entered Route 8/25 southbound. Martocchio followed at a distance and called in locations to dispatchers. The suspect exited Interstate 95 on East Main Street. He later jumped out of the car and ran into an apartment in Marina Village. Lt. We reported this to you LIVE as it was happening last night: #Bridgeport, CT – Aug. 20, 2014 – A city man faces arson charges following a fire at 1810 Stratford Ave.The fire department responded this morning just after 2 a.m. on a report of a structure fire. Police arrived and spoke with firefighters and witnesses. A relative of the suspect told police that the suspect came to the residence and discovered his video game system was missing. He broke a television and then lit a garbage bag on fire. Police responded and received a description of the suspect. An officer observed him walking on Arctic Street and detained him.
