Structure Fire

2024-07-09@9:36pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport firefighters responded to a call at 199 Yacht Street for a reported structure fire. Although no active flames were found, one individual suffered burns and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. The apartment in the seven-story building was filled with smoke, which the firefighters helped to ventilate. The fire marshal is en route to investigate the incident.

Woman Assaulted During Robbery

Today, at approximately 11:51 AM, a woman reported being robbed near the 100th block of Cowells Street and struck with a blunt object. The nature of the object is currently unclear. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where the victim was found to have sustained minor head injuries. Officers are now on-site gathering information and investigating. A description of the suspect has not yet been released.

Bridgeport News: Update on the Serious Collision on East Main Street

On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:23pm, the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received several calls for an accident involving a motor scooter versus a bicycle. The callers reported both parties were injured, and one was unresponsive. The collision occurred at the intersection of East Main Street and Jane Street. Bridgeport Fire Engine # 10, American Medical Response (AMR), and Bridgeport Police Officers were dispatched to the location. Bridgeport Police Units arrived on scene and observed Bridgeport Fire Engine # 10, giving medical attention to both operators. Both operators appeared to be seriously injured and one of them was unresponsive. The operators were transported to the Bridgeport Hospital Medical Center by AMR.
