DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield-Woman Arrested after Shoplifting and Police Pursuit

On 7/29/11 at 2:30 p.m., Diana L. Eldredge, led police on a pursuit after allegedly shoplifting at Kohls in Fairfield."][/caption] Larceny 5th degree,  Interfering with an Officer,Reckless Driving,  Operating motor Vehicle Without a License,  Engaging in Pursuit,  No Insurance, and Theft of Plate, after she was observed by Kohl's Department Store Loss prevention, selecting multiple items of men’s wear, take them into the women’s fitting room and leave the fitting room without the items visible. Explosion at US Power Plant in Astoria NY

Exploding Toilet Injures Man

ROCKHAMPTON, Australia - A man from the Royal Australian Air Force suffered life-threatening third-degree burns after a portaloo exploded Monday at an airport Down Under -- an incident connected to an ongoing US-led military exercise in the area, The Courier-Mail reported.   Officials believe the man was using the portable toilet (also known as a port-a-potty) at Rockhampton Airport, in the state of Queensland, when he lit a cigarette.   Read more.....
