His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Child Found Wandering

10:07am--#Fairfield CT-- A four-year-old girl was found wandering on Villa Avenue this morning.  Lieutenant Robert Kalamaras said the girl lived in the area.  Her 19-year-old sister was providing care was sleeping.  He said the four-year-old dressed herself, then managed to unlock the deadbolt and wander outside.  A man found the girl but he was late for work so he turned her over to a mail carrier in front of 585 Villa Avenue.  The mail carrier called police and the police were able to piece together who the girl was and where she lived.  Kalamaras said it was accidental and no charges are pending.

Bridgeport Police Press Release: About 10:30 pm last night we received reports of a domestic incident at 158 Beechwood Ave that led to a structure fire. Crews responded to a structure fire at 158 Beechwood Avenue last night, occupants on the first floor heard the smoke detector going off on the 3rd floor and exited the building. that's when they saw smoke coming from the 3rd floor, all occupants were out on arrival of firefighters. one person was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, the second floor was vacant, 4 engines 2 ladders, 1 safety officer, and assistant chief responded, red Cross notified, 8 people were displaced, and this fire is under investigation. Bridgeport News: Fire On Beechwood Avenue

10:10pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police were on a call on Beechwood Avenue when they noticed smoke near the intersection of Beechwood Avenue and Norman Street and radioed the Emergency Communication Center. They then made sure everyone got out of the home at 158 Beechwood Avenue. There was heavy fire on the second and third floors. Firefighters made entry into the apartments and reported everyone had safely made it out. Within fifteen minutes firefighters had the bulk of the fire out. There were no reported injuries but I did see EMS checking a few residents to make sure they were okay. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

Westport Police Need Your Help

The Westport Police Department is seeking the community’s help in identifying the woman pictured below. On August 9, 2017, the victim’s vehicle was entered by an unknown person while parked on Long Lots Road. Various credit cards were stolen from the victim’s purse and later used to make over $12,000 in fraudulent transactions in Trumbull, New Haven and Orange. Anyone who has information regarding the identity of this woman is asked to contact the Westport Police Detective Bureau at (203) 341-6080.
