His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Stratford News: Narcotics Arrest

#Stratford CT--During the year the Stratford Police Narcotics, Vice and Intelligence Unit received numerous neighborhood complaints of drug activity ongoing at the Stony Brook Bar and Restaurant located at 825 Success Avenue in Stratford. An investigation was initiated where it was determined the bar's owner, Angelo Recine along with bartender, Laurie Herb were trafficking cocaine from the bar. Detectives conducted numerous buys of cocaine from the bar. As a result search warrants were executed on 10-12- 2017 at the bar as well as Herb'ss and Recine's residence. Bridgeport News: Serious Crash

11:30PMish--#Bridgeport CT-- First responders were called to Dewey and Maplewood Avenue for a serious 3 car crash.  Witness said one of the vehicles allegedly ran a stop sign.  Radio reports said they located one of the accident victims down the street in the 200 block of Dewey Street. I saw two people transported by EMS but there may be more injured.  It took firefighters about twenty minutes to extricate the people trapped in the cars.

Norwalk News: Cold Case Murder Arrest

#Norwalk CT--Hakeem Atkinson, age 22, of 68 Bradley St., Bridgeport, was charged with Murder in the unrelated slaying Joseph “Jabs” Bateman, who was fatally shot behind the Avalon Gates housing complex on Belden Avenue in Norwalk on February 3, 2012. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Atkinson was 16 years old when Bateman was shot to death in a crime related to street gang activity in Norwalk. The arrest is the result of an intensive investigation by the Norwalk Police Department in conjunction with the Cold Case Unit in the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney and the Office of the State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk.
