DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: “Flash” Fire

1:45pm-- #Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters respond to Grand Garage at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Madison Avenue.  It was extinguished by employees prior to firefighter's arrival.  Wikipedia defines a flash fire as " a sudden, intense fire caused by ignition of a mixture of air and a dispersed flammable substance such as a solid (including dust), flammable or combustible liquid (such as an aerosol or fine mist), or a flammable gas.   If it were really big, our sponsor would have made it Like It Never Even Happened!

Stratford News: 3 People Ejected In Merritt Crash – 1 Killed

POLICE UPDATE: Police said two vehicles a Mercedes and a Infinity JX35 SUV were traveling southbound collided sending the SUV over guardrail ejecting 3 people.  Jordan A. Soares, 27, of Dayton Road, Bridgeport, was killed in the crash. He was a front passenger and owner of  the SUV.   The report said the driver of the SUV was Wilner Agramonte, 18, of Terrace Circle, Bridgeport, received serious injures. Belnar Agramonte, 20, also of Terrace Circle was a back seat passenger and was also badly injured. Driver of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 was Nelson Felipe Hernandez, 22, of Woodlawn Avenue Extension, Bridgeport.  He and his two female passengers were not injured in the crash. Bridgeport News: Carjacking

POLICE UPDATE: As we were first to report early Sunday morning there was a carjacking at 192 Bunnell Street.  Police say 4-5 males entered the backyard waiving guns and demanding money.  Victims of the home were searched.  Money and cellphones were taken along with a Honda Civic.  Later, Milford Police located the vehicle at the Wendy's/Motel 6 area on Schoolhouse Road.  Milford Police quickly located two of the suspects and learned the other two were in a room at Motel 6.  A short time later with the aid of K-9 the other suspects along with three firearms, narcotics, a wallet, car keys and cell phones belonging to the suspects.   Police arrested David Elliston, Ronaldo Beckett, Akeem Mitchell, Overton Rowe…
