UPDATED INFORMATION! October StorytimesThe Stratford Library Children’s Department offers weekly storytimes for children. Storytimes meet at 10:30 a.m. On Mondays, Toddler Time meets for ages 0-2. On Tuesdays, Preschool Storytime is for ages 3-5. Baby Lapsit takes place on Thursdays for babies 0-18 months, and Friday Fun offers stories and songs for ages 1-5. The City of Bridgeport Announces 2024 Citywide Milling & Paving

Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport has announced that the Department of Public Facilities will begin milling and road paving throughout the City beginning Monday, October 7, 2024. Milling and paving will begin in the 139th District and will continue throughout various neighborhoods, finishing in the 136th District. Please note, “milling” is the process of grinding and removing the current top layer of pavement.  Drivers are advised to use caution during the milling process. During this time, drivers are advised of the following: Adhere to “No Parking” signs: all areas will be enforced 24 hours ahead of paving; cars will be towed if interruption to paving occurs. Bridgeport News: Four Charged In Illegal Street Takeover

Patrol units arrived on-scene to find several hundred vehicles and a fully involved illegal street takeover in progress.In the process of dispersing the large gathering of vehicles and pedestrian observers, patrol officers managed to arrest four persons for taking part in the illegal street takeover. Trumbull News: Pedestrian Struck

Police UPDATE: Trumbull Police are now on the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on Church Hill Road (Route 127) in Trumbull, near the intersection of Main Street (Route 111). The crash involves serious injuries and the roadway in this area will be closed for several hours. Church Hill Road will be closed between Quality Street and Main Street, and Main Street will be closed to Church Hill Road for the next several hours. Shelton Man Stopped for Reckless Driving on RT 8 in Bridgeport, Leads to Criminal Impersonation Arrest

A Shelton man was arrested for criminal impersonation following a reckless driving stop on Route 8 in Bridgeport on 09/24/2024 at approximately 10:58 AM. A Trooper from the CSP Traffic Services Unit observed a gray Nissan Versa entering the highway from the Northbound exit 3 ramp at an extremely high rate of speed, merging across several lanes. The Trooper clocked the vehicle's speed at 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone and activated emergency lights, prompting the driver to pull over to the right shoulder. Shelton Man Arrested for Sexual Assault at Riverwalk

On September 25, 2024, the Shelton Police Department arrested 21-year-old Jgai Purcell of Shelton. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on August 8, 2024, at the Riverwalk located on Canal Street in Shelton. On that date, a 47-year-old woman reported she was walking her dog at the Riverwalk when a man approached her and stated he wanted to get to know her. The woman attempted to walk away, but the man put his arms around her, preventing her from leaving. The woman reported that while the man was restraining her, he grabbed her breasts.
