Bridgeport Man Arrested for Car Theft and Firearm Violations

On October 17, 2024, 19-year-old Michael Lozada of Bridgeport, CT, was arrested by Westport Police in connection with a stolen vehicle and multiple firearm-related charges. The investigation began on May 30, 2024, when a white 2024 Audi was reported stolen from a Westport driveway. The vehicle, left unlocked with the keys inside, was tracked and recovered by the Bridgeport Auto Theft Task Force later that day. Through surveillance footage, Lozada was identified as the suspect responsible for the theft. A search warrant was executed at his residence on October 17, during which officers discovered a ghost gun and a large capacity magazine. Intoxicated Suspect Arrested After Assault and Firearm Incident on Maplewood Ave

On October 19, 2024, Officer S. Singh, along with Officers J. Motasky, D. Bahr, M. Cuno, and J. Bastidas, responded to a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon in the 300th block of Maplewood Ave. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who had been assaulted with a tree branch and sustained a laceration to the forehead. The victim was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation. Officers successfully apprehended the suspect, who was heavily intoxicated, and recovered a firearm at the scene. Due to the suspect's level of intoxication, he was also transported to the hospital for further evaluation, where Officer Bastidas remained with him until his discharge. Norwalk News: Norwalk man arrested for solicitation of a minor

On May 7, 2024, the Norwalk Police Department received a complaint involving a 14-year-old engaged in inappropriate sexual conversations with a person known to the victim, identified as Keon Salmond. Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit detectives investigated and established probable cause to charge Salmond, leading to an arrest warrant. On October 16, 2024, Salmond was taken into custody at his home without incident. He was charged with Risk of Injury and Impairing Morals of a Child, as well as Harmful Communication with a Minor. Bridgeport News: Crash Sends Three Children to Hospital

On October 16, 2024, at around 8:44 a.m., Bridgeport emergency responders were called to the intersection of Park Avenue and South Frontage Road following a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Officers from the Bridgeport Police Department and medical personnel from American Medical Response (AMR) arrived at the scene. Three children, ages 7, 8, and 11, were taken to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
