Arrest Made in Child Sexual Assault Case

On September 29, 2024, officers responded to a report of sexual assault involving an 8-year-old child. The case was taken over by the Special Victims Unit, which developed probable cause to issue an arrest warrant for Armando Cruz-Zambrano. On November 5, 2024, Special Victims Unit detectives apprehended Cruz-Zambrano without incident on East Avenue. Armando Cruz-Zambrano, 56 years old, of Norwalk, was arrested on November 5, 2024. He faces charges of Sexual Assault 1st Degree, Illegal Sexual Contact with a Victim Under 16, Assault 3rd Degree, and Interfering with an Emergency Call. His bond is set at $2,000,000, with a court date scheduled for November 19, 2024.

Ansonia News: Police Investigating Shooting of Ansonia Woman Transported to Hospital

On November 1, 2024 at about 7:50 P.M., the Derby Police Department requested assistance for a shooting investigation where the victim was at Griffin Hospital. During the course of the investigation it was determined the victim was shot in Ansonia then transported by private car to the hospital.The victim, a 27 year-old female Ansonia resident, was transferred to another hospital for further treatment where she is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing, this appears to be an isolated incident and detectives are currently pursuing leads in the case. Man Arrested for Killing a Kitten

On 11-1-24, Shelton Police arrested 47-year-old Krzystof Bakota of Shelton and charged him with Malicious Killing of an Animal 1st Degree. Bakota was held on a $25,000 bond and brought to Derby Court for arraignment on 11-1-24. The arrest stems from a report Shelton Police took from a family member of Bakota who stated she left her kitten in Bakota’s care while she was away. Bakota told her that the kitten went missing. The kitten was later found deceased in the backyard by another family member. Bakota admitted to family members that he killed the kitten. Bridgeport News: Update in Fatal Stabbing

The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the murder of a 29-year-old man who was stabbed to death behind a social club in the East End of the city early Friday morning. The victim was identified as Kyle Allen LeBlanc from Southington, Ct. He was most recently residing in Stratford. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1st, the Stratford Police responded to a report of a person laying in the street bleeding near the intersection of Stratford Ave. and Bruce Ave. Officers subsequently found the victim there deceased, as a result of multiple stab wounds. Westport Police Arrest Suspect in Lux Bond & Green Smash-and-Grab Larceny

Joshua DeJesus, 25, of Bridgeport, was arrested by Westport police on October 30, 2024, on an outstanding warrant linked to a smash-and-grab larceny at Lux Bond & Green on May 9, 2024. DeJesus was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Larceny in the First Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the First Degree, and held on a $250,000 bond; he was transported to Stamford Superior Court for arraignment on October 31, 2024.
