POLICE RESPONSE TO INCIDENT INVOLVING HOMEMADE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES

FAIRFIELD, CT – On December 1, 2024, at approximately 12:25 PM, the Fairfield Police Department was notified by an area hospital of a young adult male being treated for significant hand injuries, reportedly caused by an explosive device. The patient informed hospital staff that he and a friend had built and detonated multiple homemade explosive devices earlier that day. An investigation revealed that the two individuals had constructed four devices using materials purchased online and at retail locations. They transported the devices to a secluded area in the Pine Creek Marsh, where they attempted to detonate them. STRATFORD, CT December 2, 2024—The Stratford Health Department is offering special flu clinics for preschool-aged children to assist families in meeting the Connecticut Department of Public Health’s influenza immunization requirement. The clinics will be held at the Stratford Health Department on the following dates: • Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM • Monday, December 30, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM • Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM According to state guidelines, all preschool children (PK3 and PK4) are required to receive at least one dose of influenza vaccine each year between August 1st and December 31st. The Pequot Running Club of Fairfield will be holding their annual ThanksgivingDay 5-mile road race and 2.6-mile walk this Thursday, November 28, 2024. The event kicks off in Southport and the road race will initially enter Westporttown limits from Pequot Avenue/Beachside Avenue. It then travels north on SascoCreek Road, east on Greens Farms Road, northwest on Clapboard Hill Road, south onMaple Avenue South, west on Greens Farms Road, south on New Creek Road andthen east on Beachside Avenue until the race again enters Southport on PequotAvenue. Bridgeport News: Police Seek Information in Hit-and-Run That Critically Injured Local Man

On November 22, 2024, at approximately 6:36PM, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received several calls for a motor vehicle versus a pedestrian collision/evading. The callers reported a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and State Street Extension. Bridgeport Fire Engine 7, American Medical Response (AMR), and Bridgeport Police Officers were dispatched to the location. Bridgeport Police Officers arrived on scene and observed Bridgeport Firefighters rendering aide to an unconscious male lying on the ground. AMR arrived shortly after and transported the male to Bridgeport Hospital.
