Police UPDATE: On November 23, 2018 at approximately 5:49 pm, Bridgeport Patrol Officers responded to the scene of an accident on Washington Avenue, just west of its intersection with James Street. A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Washington Avenue. The operator fled the scene in a black four door vehicle traveling westbound on Washington Avenue. The pedestrian, identified as Raymond F. Benson D.O.B. 10/24/1975, was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital where he’s listed in serious but stable condition.
The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to assist the Patrol Division and conduct further investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic Division (Sergeant Gabe Meszaros) at 203-576-7640.
5:49pm–#Bridgeport CT– Another pedestrian has been hit by a hit and run driver (not the same driver), this time at James and Washington Street, the pedestrian is in pretty serious condition. This driver left behind the lower portion of his bumper, unfortunately not the part with the license plate. Another pedestrian was hit at North and Parrell, but a witness did get a plate number. The other incident happened on Main Street between Woodmont and Glendale Roads.
