Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service(WVEMS) will be offering two open houses for the public during the month of September.The local non-profit, founded in 1979, is excited to welcome the public into their headquarterson Saturday, September 15th from 3:00PM – 6:00PM or on Sunday, September 23rd from 3:00PM – 6:00PM. Their headquarters is located at 50 Jesup Road, Westport (also Westport Police Headquarters). Attendees can access the Open House from the ambulance bays, located behind the building. The open houses will allow community members and families to “drop-in” and learn about the WVEMS tradition of saving lives, which has been funded by donations for nearly 40 years. EMS volunteers will give tours of their facility and show their life saving ambulances and vehicles, such as the brand-new Fly Car Unit 604. Additionally, guests can learn more about the upcoming EMT class and experience hands-on demonstrations of our newest technologies.
