UPDATE: Fairfield police said Daniel Scott Kurimsky of Shelton died after he was hit on Metro North train tracks around 12:45 a.m.  Police said Kurimsky worked Geronimo Southwest Grill and Tequila Bar which was open until 9pm. The Office of the Chief Medical examiner is ruling it an accident and the Metropolitan Transit Authority is still investigating the incident

 

1:00am–#Fairfield CT– #MTA–A man walking on the tracks in the Fairfield/Southport area of town was killed.  The location was behind Lacey Lane, a private roadway.  The man was thrown into the Mill River which ran under the train tracks.   Assistant Fire Chief Roger Caisse told me that firefighters had deployed their Rapid Deployment Craft which assisted the firefighters in locating the body and moved it to a location where the investigation can take place.  The body will be transferred to the MTA who will conduct the investigation and will be turned over to the New York Medical Examiner for their investigation.  It is not known if the person died as a result of their injuries of being hit or if they drowned.
