Bridgeport, CT – This morning, at 0214 hours, Bridgeport Police officers were called to the scene of a neighbor dispute at 950/952 State Street that turned violent resulting in one man, being shot. The male victim was located at Norman and Fremont Street and transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
While investigating that homicide, another fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of 140 Alice Street at 0427 hours. The victim, lived in the building. The motive is not clear at this time, but there is no connection to the previous incident. These are the 15th and 16th homicides this year.
Bridgeport Police Department confirm that these are two separate and isolated incidents that don’t appear to involve any threat to the general public. Each of the incidents from this weekend are driven and among related associates. From an investigative standpoint, the BPD Detectives Bureau has strong information to apprehend and solve each matter and bring suspects to justice. Chief Perez stated, “The loss of a life and any act of violence is tragic and upsetting for all of us in the community. While these acts may leave cause for concern, the general public should not feel threatened. These are not random acts against residents, they are isolated incidents between individual subjects.”
