The Norwalk Police Department is pleased to announce that the 2016 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (“D.A.R.E.”) graduation took placee on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. The D.A.R.E. program seeks to teach students good decision-making skills that will enable them to lead safe and healthy lives. The ultimate mission of the program is to fulfill the vision of a world in which students everywhere are empowered to respect each other, avoid negative influences and instead, allow them to focus on their strengths and potential. Additionally, the program encourages a positive relationship between students and law enforcement, teachers, parents, and other community leaders.
Over the course of the past school year, Norwalk Police Officer Chris Holms, Officer Gabe Demott, Officer Cornell Abruzzini and Officer Jermaine Nash, have taught D.A.R.E. to approximately 1,000 students. Please join us in celebrating their graduation from this praiseworthy program.
