#Bridgeport, T. (August 7, 2015) – Yesterday, Bridgeport Police Chief Joseph Gaudett assisted State Marshal Ron Kadar in making an impromptu arrest on the streets of Bridgeport.

State Marshal Kadar was in the middle of making an arrest of Robert Young on Main Street. At the same time Police Chief Gaudett was walking down the same street returning from that afternoon’s Greater Bridgeport NAACP luncheon celebrating the 50th anniversary of the federal Voting Rights Act.

“I was trying to get the handcuffs on him and he wasn’t cooperating and I was looking around for someone to help me and who should come over but Police Chief Joseph Gaudett,” said Kadar according to reports. “I didn’t even have to say anything, the chief just stepped up and helped me take the guy into custody.”

Young, who had a warrant out for failing to fulfill family support obligations, was taken into custody.
