ARRESTED: ESPINAL, Anthony DOB:11/29/78 of349 Hawley Ave Bridgeport, Ct

CHARGE: MURDER

The accused is being held on $250,000 bond to appear in Superior Court GA#2 Bridgeport on 12/24/14.

State Police Press Release:

On 12/18/14 approximately 11:20p.m. State Police Troop G received a 911 call from a witness who stated that two people were outside their vehicles on the Route 25/8, southbound Exit 5 off-ramp walking towards each other in an aggressive manner. Immediately after this 911 call Troopers received another 911 call from one of the people involved in the altercation. This caller stated that he was actively involved in an altercation with another male and he requested state police response. A scuffle was overheard on the phone and the 911 call was then disconnected. This male caller called State Police 911 back and stated that he had retreated to the corner of Lindley Avenue and Capitol Avenue in Bridgeport, a short distance from the altercation. Bridgeport Police Officers and Troopers arrived at that location and secured him and his vehicle. Troopers also arrived at the scene of the altercation on the off-ramp where a male subject was severely injured. Troopers provided emergency care at this scene and the male subject was transported by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital where shortly after admission he was pronounced dead.

 

The identity of the deceased is BRYANT KELLY DOB; 3/26/88 of Bridgeport. The Office of The Chief States Medical Examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased and determined the cause of death to stab wound. The crime scene was secured and the State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives conducted this criminal investigation. State Police Detectives documented the crime scene secured physical and forensic evidence. Witnesses were interviewed and provided some detail of this event. An arrest  warrant application was submitted to Superior Court for the arrest of the accused in this case. The warrant was issued and the accused was taken into custody today by State Police without incident. He was transported to Troop G to be processed.
