Video Report- 2:44pm–#Fairfield CT #cttfire Just before 3pm construction workers outside the Ludlowe Health Care building struck a high volume gas line right near the building’s main entrance at 118 Jefferson Street. Firefighters did meter gas inside the building so as a precaution residents facing the front of the building were evacuated to the rear of the building. Because of the serious nature of the call firefighters handled it as structure fire and sent additional resources to the scene. Workers from the gas company were quick to the scene and turned off the gas to the building. Firefighters remained on the scene checking for any left over pockets of gas and left scene around 4:30pm.
