Household Hazardous Waste Day and Neonics Insecticides

Westport, CT - In 2018, the State of Connecticut became one of the first states in the nation to restrict the use of insecticides called Neonicotinoids or “Neonics” for short.  This class of chemicals has been proven to be especially harmful to the world’s pollinators. All are encouraged to help protect pollinators and products containing Neonics to Hazardous Waste Day. The Public Works Department encourages residents to take advantage of Household Hazardous Waste Day and safely dispose of any neonicotinoid containing insecticides. Swastika Vandalism on Tesla in Fairfield Investigated

A swastika sticker was discovered in the back of a Tesla parked at the Black Rock Train Station in Fairfield, Connecticut. The vehicle's owner reported the incident to the Fairfield Police Department, which has since launched an investigation.​ This act of vandalism occurred just after a protest at the Tesla showroom in Milford on March 22, 2025, where approximately 300 individuals gathered to oppose actions taken by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Structure Fire
