DELIVERY VEHICLE STOLEN AT GUNPOINT, VEHICLE AND ITEMS RECOVERED

FAIRFIELD, CT – On December 21, 2024, at approximately 8:31 PM, the Fairfield Police Departmentresponded to a report of a stolen delivery vehicle near the 200 block of Woodrow Avenue in theSouthport section of Fairfield. A delivery driver reported that their vehicle had been taken momentsearlier while making a delivery.The preliminary investigation revealed that while the driver exited the vehicle to deliver a package, anunknown individual entered the vehicle through an open passenger-side door. The suspect was describedas a light-skinned male, dressed in black with a face mask. The driver attempted to intervene but wasthreatened at gunpoint by the suspect, who subsequently drove away in the delivery van.The driver was unharmed and sought assistance from nearby residents to contact police.…

Hi-Ho-Ho Smokestack?

Last week we met with Bridgeport officials on the new paint scheme on the Hi-Ho Daddario coal chute on North Avenue. Mayor Ganim mentioned that the red and white smoke stack on the PSEG is slated for demolition and would like to save it. Many have said it is a beacon for boats and aircraft. Bridgeport News: Victim ID’d in CT Ave Fire

Today, the Connecticut State Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that an identification was made on the victim from the structure fire that occurred on December 23rd.  The victim Fabienne Laramee, 26 succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Bridgeport Fire Department sends its condolences to the family during this difficult time.  The Red Cross has assisted another family from this fire totaling: 6 Families (14 adults, 6 children, and 1 dog) The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police, Fire, and Explosion investigation unit are working together as this is an active investigation to determine the cause of this structure fire.

Meeting for Rehabilitation of the Devon Railroad Bridge Carrying the Metro North New Haven Line in Milford and Stratford

Structure Fire

Firefighters were called to an alarm in the 400 block of Bishop Avenue, firefighters found a working fire in the walls on the third floor which spread to the roof. 5 adults, 4 children, and 10 dogs will be spending Christmas elsewhere when the Red Cross relocates them and attends to their immediate needs. Barricaded Subject Arrested After Lengthy Standoff in Norwalk

Norwalk, CT – A nearly six-hour standoff ended peacefully after police arrested a man accused of making threats and brandishing a weapon at a residence on Adams Avenue. On December 23, 2024, at approximately 7:04 PM, Norwalk Police received a report of a disturbance at 32 Adams Avenue. According to authorities, 29-year-old Nabeel Osama Abdallah, who appeared intoxicated, made alarming statements about "completing a mission," including threats to burn down the house and harm a resident. A witness also reported seeing a firearm in Abdallah's room, and he allegedly stated that he was "not going down without a fight."
