Bridgeport News: Bicyclist Crash

Police UPDATE: On October 14, 2024, at approximately 10:33pm, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received several calls for a pedestrian being stuck by a black Honda sedan. The callers stated the collision/evading occurred at the intersection of Chopsey Hill Road and the entrance to Route 8/25 north. Bridgeport Fire Engine 15, American Medical Response (AMR), and Bridgeport Police Officers were dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, a male pedestrian was observed lying in the intersection and appeared to be in critical condition. The male received medical attention, and he was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Norwalk Man Arrested for Sexual Assault and Coercion

On October 10, 2024, Jason Acosta-Williams was arrested by warrant and charged with Sexual Assault in the First Degree and Coercion. The arrest stems from an investigation initiated in August 2024 when detectives looked into allegations of sexual assault. Acosta-Williams reportedly threatened to share explicit photographs of the victim with their family and coworkers if the victim did not engage in sexual relations with him. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, but attempts to locate Acosta-Williams were unsuccessful until he turned himself in on October 10, 2024. Bridgeport Firefighters were called to a home in the 170 block of Hawley Avenue for a refrigerant leak from a refrigerator in the basement leaving a strong odor of ammonia according in the home.
