Felon Arrested in Bridgeport Traffic Stop, Found with Stolen Firearm and Multiple Warrants

On September 13, 2024, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at Howard Avenue and Fairfield Avenue for an equipment violation. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver, Sasha Garcia, had an outstanding warrant from Montville, Connecticut. She was transported to the Police Department pending pick-up by Montville authorities. The front seat passenger, Tavon Holman, also had outstanding warrants from Montville and Bridgeport. Holman was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm, and further investigation revealed he is a convicted felon previously charged with stealing a firearm and having weapons in a motor vehicle. Norwalk News: Motorcycle Crash Now Fatal

On September 14, 2024, at 5:38 PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle collision with a vehicle on Winfield St. near the intersection of Pequot Dr. Norwalk Police, Norwalk Fire Department, and Norwalk Hospital Emergency Medical Service responded immediately and provided medical aid to the motorcycle operator, Dwight Clifford St. John of Norwalk. St. John was transported to Norwalk Hospital by ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The incident is still under active investigation. Fairfield News: Pedestrian Struck

Fairfield Police responded to a motor vehicle crash which occurred at the intersection of New England Avenue and Kings Hwy Cutoff, where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the road. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where they remain in critical but stable condition. Kings Hwy Cutoff remained closed during the investigation, but has since reopened. No official determination of fault has been made at this time. The crash is being investigated by our crash investigation unit.

Norwalk News: Drug arrest made involving smoke shop

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Norwalk Police Special Services Division, along with the State of Connecticut Consumer Protection Drug Control Division, executed a search and seizure warrant at ZaZa Smoke & Convenience Store, located at 336 Westport Avenue.  This warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into smoke shops selling cannabis without a proper license. In Connecticut, it is illegal to sell products with a total THC concentration greater than 0.3% without a cannabis license issued by the Department of Consumer Protection. Route 25 Crash With Ejection

UPDATE: A teen from Rhode Island lost his life in a rollover crash on Route 25 in Trumbull late Friday night. Connecticut State Police responded to the scene near Exit 9 on Route 25 South around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of an accident. According to police, a BMW X5 attempted to pass a BMW X1 from behind and shifted to the right, sideswiping the X1. The collision caused the X5 to spin out of control and crash into several trees. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Timothy Campbell from Cumberland, R.I., was a passenger in the back seat of the X5.
