Norwalk Police Charge Two Minors After School Shooting and Bomb Threat Hoax

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Norwalk Police Department Special Victims Unit received information regarding a Snapchat post that referenced a potential school shooting and bombing. The investigators traced the post to a home in Norwalk. Officers arrived at the location and identified a 14-year-old as the individual responsible for the post. Further investigations by patrol officers and Special Victims Unit investigators revealed that another Norwalk youth, aged 13, was also involved in sharing or creating the post. Through interviews with both minors and their parents, it was concluded that the post was not credible and was related to an online gaming platform the youths were engaged with and was meant as a hoax. Stabbing

Police said in a statement: "At 9:01 am Bridgeport ECC received a call of an assault with a dangerous weapon in the 2050 block of East Main St. Two co-workers got into an altercation and stabbed each other. One party was transported to the hospital with a stab wound to the chest with non-life-threatening injuries. One party was stabbed in the arm. No further at this time."

A Vietnam War Memorial will travel through Westport, Bridgeport & Fairfield on Sept 24.

You are invited to welcome The Wall as a trailer carrying THE WALL THAT HEALS AND MOBILE EDUCATION CENTER will leave Sherwood Island in Westport at noon and proceed north on Route 1 to Fairfield making a brief stop at the intersection of Post Road and S. Benson Road at 12:15 p.m. on TUES SEPT 24. A Fairfield Fire Department truck will stop traffic in the intersection, where a soloist will sing the national anthem.
