Early on the morning of September 11, 2024, at around 2:53 a.m., state troopers from Troop G in Bridgeport responded to a five-car crash on I-95 northbound, near Exit 9. The incident followed reports of a wrong-way driver, identified as a dark-colored Toyota Corolla. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found a heavily damaged black Toyota Corolla in the left lane, along with four other vehicles involved in the crash. The driver of the Corolla was identified as Jacqueline Remache, a 29-year-old from Bronx, New York. She did not have her driver’s license on her at the time. The first officers on scene found a female and male inside the residence, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The female was shot multiple times in the torso, she was transported to a local hospital for treatment and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The male was shot once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ansonia Police Department is currently investigating the suspicious deaths of two people in the 100 block of Westfield Avenue. The investigation is active and ongoing; however, this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. Updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
On September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm, Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Spring Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old male victim, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, lying in the street. Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim's next of kin has been notified. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was deliberately targeted, with the suspect fleeing the scene in a gray four-door Chevy sedan, headed southbound on East Main Street. The crime scene was secured by patrol officers, and the Detective Bureau’s Homicide Squad, along with the Forensic Identification Unit, initiated an investigation, canvassing the area…
The Milford Library is currently closed off due to a report of a suspected bomb in the Library. State Police are on scene at the current moment to ascertain the threat. There was no bomb threat called in, however, there was a suspicious package that someone called that it may be a bomb. There is no further information at this time and is currently ongoing.

On September 10th at 9:20PM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple calls regarding several gunshots in the area of Strawberry Hill Ave and Catalpa Street. Officers responded to the area and located a crime scene. At the same time, it was learned that one victim had arrived at Norwalk Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and is in serious condition. Detectives assumed the investigation and were able to determine that this was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing threat to the community. Detectives will be active in the area throughout the day continuing the investigation.
