Fairfield News: Pedestrian Struck

Fairfield Police responded to a motor vehicle crash which occurred at the intersection of New England Avenue and Kings Hwy Cutoff, where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the road. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where they remain in critical but stable condition. Kings Hwy Cutoff remained closed during the investigation, but has since reopened. No official determination of fault has been made at this time. The crash is being investigated by our crash investigation unit.

Norwalk News: Drug arrest made involving smoke shop

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Norwalk Police Special Services Division, along with the State of Connecticut Consumer Protection Drug Control Division, executed a search and seizure warrant at ZaZa Smoke & Convenience Store, located at 336 Westport Avenue.  This warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into smoke shops selling cannabis without a proper license. In Connecticut, it is illegal to sell products with a total THC concentration greater than 0.3% without a cannabis license issued by the Department of Consumer Protection. Police had received new information that the store was selling marijuana and products exceeding the legal THC limit, which was confirmed during the search.  Several hundred products containing more than 0.3% THC were found in the store,…

Route 25 Crash With Ejection

UPDATE: A teen from Rhode Island lost his life in a rollover crash on Route 25 in Trumbull late Friday night. Connecticut State Police responded to the scene near Exit 9 on Route 25 South around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of an accident. According to police, a BMW X5 attempted to pass a BMW X1 from behind and shifted to the right, sideswiping the X1. The collision caused the X5 to spin out of control and crash into several trees. The victim, identified as 18-year-old Timothy Campbell from Cumberland, R.I., was a passenger in the back seat of the X5. Shelton Man arrested in connection to Fatal Drug Overdose

On 09/13/2024 the Shelton Police Department arrested 38-year-old Daniel Reid of Shelton. The arrest stems from a fatal drug overdose that occurred on 05/26/2024 in Shelton. A subsequent investigation by Shelton Detectives revealed Reid sold narcotics to the decedent just prior to the overdose. Search warrants were served at Reid's Shelton residence and on his vehicle. Detective discovered narcotics, a semi-automatic firearm with no serial number and ammunition.Reid was charged with Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Alteration of Firearm Identification, Criminal Possession of Ammunition and Possession of Weapons in a Motor Vehicle. Reid was held on a $300,000 bond and transported to Derby Superior Court on 09/13/2024

Stamford News: Alleged Wrong Way Drunk Driver Arrested

Early on the morning of September 11, 2024, at around 2:53 a.m., state troopers from Troop G in Bridgeport responded to a five-car crash on I-95 northbound, near Exit 9. The incident followed reports of a wrong-way driver, identified as a dark-colored Toyota Corolla. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found a heavily damaged black Toyota Corolla in the left lane, along with four other vehicles involved in the crash. The driver of the Corolla was identified as Jacqueline Remache, a 29-year-old from Bronx, New York. She did not have her driver’s license on her at the time.
