1. On August 3, 2024, at approximately 11:15 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received reports of a male victim arriving at an area hospital via private vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The victim has been identified as a 38-year-old Bridgeport man from the “Hollow” neighborhood. He is listed in stable condition.

There were no ShotSpotter activations in the hour prior to this incident. Police have determined the shooting likely occurred inside the lobby of building 5 – Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Community.

The Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the criminal investigation. Detectives have conducted interviews and canvassed the area at and around the Housing Community.

2. On August 4, 2024, at approximately 12:15 am Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation within the 100 block of East Avenue (fully automatic gunfire). At approximately 12:25 am a victim presented at an area hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen. The victim was transported to the hospital via private vehicle and was able to walk himself into the emergency department. His condition is stable -pending surgery. The victim has been identified as a 33-year-old Bridgeport man from the City’s westside.

Police Officers responded to the 100 block of East Avenue where they discovered numerous shell casings in the street with no additional victims. The ballistic evidence was collected and submitted into to property room for later examination by members of the forensic identification unit.

3. The Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the criminal investigation. Detectives have begun canvassing the East Avenue area in an attempt to track down the suspect(s) and identify any witnesses who may have observed the shooting.
