Bridgeport Shooting Leaves One Dead, Another Critically Injured

On August 17, 2024, at approximately 2:25 am Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Carroll Avenue. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire. As police responded to the east end, the Emergency Operations Center provided updates to the officers. Citizens reported hearing multiple shots fired and observing 2 victims shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 28-year-old Bridgeport woman lying on the sidewalk along the fence-line for 1365 Stratford Avenue. Milford News: Milford Police Arrest Suspect in Storage Facility Burglary After Months-Long Investigation

Milford, CT – On May 6, 2024, Milford Police responded to CubeSmart Storage at 90 Rowe Avenue following a report of an active burglary. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple storage units had been broken into, with several broken locks scattered at the scene. The Detective Bureau immediately took over the investigation, with the Crime Scene Unit processing the area for evidence. After an extensive investigation, authorities secured arrest warrants for two suspects. On August 13, 2024, Milford Police apprehended Colt Meadows, 20, of 4 Glade Street, West Haven. Bridgeport News: Man Fatally Shot in Greene Homes Housing Community; Homicide Squad Investigating

https://youtu.be/IKw1Ap9NBQ0 On August 14, 2024, at approximately 10:15 pm Bridgeport Police responded to reports of a party shot within the Greene Homes Housing Community (Building 4).  Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive 45-year-old Bridgeport man in the hallway on the fifth floor.  He was found lying down and appeared to have succumbed to fatal injuries.  Medics quickly arrived and confirmed the victim was deceased.
