Westport’s Holiday Program Seeks Donations

Westport, CT - Human Services Director Elaine Daignault invites community participation in its annual Holiday Giving Program, bringing joy to local families facing financial hardship. The longstanding program is funded entirely by community donations and assists over 80 income-qualified Westport households with school-aged children to purchase gifts and essentials for their families. Annette D'Augelli, Human Services Youth and Family Specialist, has run the program for several years. Bridgeport News: Foot Pursuit

"On November 8, 2023, at 10:22 PM on Wednesday, Bridgeport Police attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop at Indian Ave/Chopsey Hill Ave. The vehicle initially pulled over and appeared to stop, but then suddenly accelerated at a high rate of speed. Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop after hitting the curb of the center median. The driver fled on foot, initiating a pursuit heading northbound on Robert St and Indian Ave. State Police K-9 units were dispatched and tracked the suspect, concluding in the area of Chopsey Hill Rd and Summit St. At the time of the report, the suspect had not been located, and the vehicle was subsequently towed." https://youtu.be/jl-3qgR5F4U

Norwalk News: Robbery Suspects

The Detective Bureau is looking to identify the pictured individuals in connection to an attempted Robbery in Norwalk on 8/3/23. The victim was selling an item online and the suspect attempted to physically take it after offering fake currency. The suspect then indicated he had a weapon before fleeing the scene. A similar incident occurred in Danielson, CT on 10/25/23 involving the same two suspects. Bridgeport News: Man Shot

#Bridgeport CT--On November 6, 2023, at approximately 8:40 pm Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and citizens reports of shots fired within the 1200 block of Park Avenue.  ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire.  Upon arriving in the area, Officers quickly located a crime scene.  Minutes later, a 24-year-old Bridgeport man presented at an area hospital suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.
