TOWN OF STRATFORD INITIATES COOLING CENTER PROTOCOL 

STRATFORD, CT – Due to receiving an Extreme Warm Weather Advisory notice from the State of Connecticut, the Town of Stratford has initiated its Cooling Center protocol. This protocol is enacted from 8AM Wednesday, July 26th, to 8AM Sunday, July 30th. Mayor Hoydick is advising residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable, to take precautions ahead of the extreme temperatures that are forecast to impact over the next several days.  For Overnight and long-term sheltering residents need to contact the 221 System by dialing 211. Bridgeport News: Man Shot On The West Side

#Bridgeport CT-- On July 26, 2023, at approximately 2:40 pm the Bridgeport Police Emergency Operations Center received information that a male party presented himself at an area hospital suffering from gunshot wound to his left hand and left knee. The Detective Bureau has responded and taken over the investigation. The victim, a 22-year-old Stratford man, was uncooperative with Detectives and would only say he was traveling alone in his car somewhere on the westside of the City when he was shot. His injuries are reported to be non-life threatening. Anyone with information about this crime is requested to contact the Detective Bureau, Detective Albert Palatiello, at 203-581-5226. Person Stabbed In Bridgeport

Tuesday 2023-07-26@ At 4:18 PM, the Bridgeport Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call informing them that a man had been stabbed on Kossuth Avenue. According to initial reports from the scene, the person had suffered a stab wound on the arm. The officers who arrived at the location mentioned that the injured person was not cooperating.The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of a serious injury.
