ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG ANNOUNCES $4.8 MILLION SETTLEMENT WITH REDWOOD TOXICOLOGY LABORATORY

(Hartford, CT) – Attorney General William Tong, U.S. Attorney Leonard C. Boyle, and Special Agent in Charge Phillip Coyne of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General announced today that Redwood Toxicology Laboratory, Inc. has entered into a civil settlement agreement with the federal and state governments in which it will pay nearly $4.8 million to resolve allegations it overcharged the Connecticut Medicaid program for certain laboratory services. Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (“RTL”), with a headquarters located in Santa Rosa, California, provides laboratory-testing services, specifically urine drug testing services, for substance abuse patients enrolled in the Connecticut Medicaid program.  The government alleges that RTL violated Connecticut’s so-called “Most Favored Nation” regulation (Conn. Bridgeport News: Seaview Avenue "Incident"On Monday March 7, 2022 at 17:45 hrs. the Bridgeport Emergency Communications (ECC) received several 911 calls regarding a preliminary report of a multi-car MVA that occurred on the Seaview Ave at Exit 29 ramp. Preliminary reports also indicated that shots were fired. While first responders were being dispatched, St. Vincent’s Medical Center ER notified the ECC to explain that one party arrived at in their ER with GSW to the leg, claiming the shooting occurred somewhere on Main St, possibly related, not yet confirmed. 2022-003-07@3:10pm-- A manhole blew in front of Beverly Pizza shutting down Fairfield Avenue between Brewster Avenue and Gilman Street. Police initial report listed it as a gas rupture. One Adult and Two Juveniles Arrested After Robbery of Car/Police Chase (Westport, CT 3/5/2022) At approximately 7:00 p.m. on this date, Westport Police officersresponded to the parking lot of 1759 Post Road East on a report of the possible theft of a motorvehicle. Fairfield Police arrest Fairfield Ludlowe High School juvenile after threats made to classmates. On 03/05/2022, Fairfield Police Detectives working in collaboration with school safety officers, arrested a Fairfield Ludlowe High School (FLHS) student (Age 15) following a lengthy investigation of a veiled threat made to several classmates. It was reported to police that several students received a threatening text message from an unknown number. A subsequent investigation identified the suspect as a student of FLHS. Police and school administrators have been in constant contact throughout the investigation and have complete confidence that the sole person responsible has been identified and arrested. Bridgeport News: Bronx Man Shot

#Bridgeport CT--On March 6, 2022, at approximately 2:00 am the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received reports of a party shot at 1450 Barnum Avenue. Upon arrival, uniformed police officers located a 28-year-old Bronx NY man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg and a crime scene in the rear parking lot of the Ten20 Club. There were reports of an altercation in the parking lot prior to the victim being shot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital by AMR Ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.
